Hello! My name is Shivani Manikandan and I am a biochemistry major, expecting to graduate in May 2023. I am currently taking part in research related to substrate binding in G-protein coupled receptors, and I hope to get more involved in neuroscience and immunology research through my career. In the future, I hope to become a physician who practices clinically and takes part in medical research. Consequently, I expect that communicating science will be a major part of my career, whether it is discussing a diagnosis with a patient or writing a research grant. Through the Latham Fellowship, I hope to improve my science communication skills and interact with the community in a unique way.
