UI IINSPIRE is part of the Iowa Illinois Nebraska STEM Partnership for Innovation in Research and Education (IINSPIRE) which is an alliance among 16 two-year and four-year colleges and universities.

Institutions in the alliance are working together to support undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and develop a robust STEM workforce serving the region and nation. 

Qualifications to apply to the UI IINSPIRE Research Internship Program include:

• Enrolled full-time at the UI as an undergraduate student in a supported major
• Priority is given to students transferring from a 2-year or 4-year college or university that is part of the  IINSPIRE Alliance
• hold at least a 2.8 GPA
• Be a United States citizen or permanent resident of the United States
