The mission of the Science Alliance Internship Program is to support undergraduate student success in the sciences for first- and second-year students. Applicants should be interested in exploring research on campus and aspire to a future career in scientific research. 

The ISA especially encourages students to apply who may have faced barriers or challenges in their path towards their higher education and career goals, are dedicated to fostering diversity in the sciences, and are eager to contribute to a supportive and inclusive community of peers. 

Qualifications to apply to the Science Alliance Internship Program:

  • student must be a UI-enrolled freshman or sophomore while participating in the program
  • enrolled in a supported major
  • be committed to or seriously considering a career in scientific research
  • hold at least a 3.0 GPA
  • submit a free application complete with a short essay
