Undergraduate Students
Research is being conducted across the University of Iowa, and we aim to bring the opportunity to do undergraduate research to the attention of all interested students. If you are interested in learning about the Iowa Sciences Academy and you want to be made aware of upcoming ISA public events or program application deadlines, you can join the Pathfinders Listserv.
Involvement in research and creative scholarship enriches and rounds-out education. If you are interested in joining a peer group of like-minded students interested in STEM fields, you can get involved by:
- Applying for a paid research opportunity through one of our ISA programs.
- Joining the Pathfinders Listserv to learn more about programs and events offered through the Iowa Sciences Academy. You will receive the ISA Newsletter and direct communications about upcoming paid research program deadlines and invitations to ISA sponsored public events.
- Registration will place you on a listserv and you will receive communications from ISA for up to two years.
Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students, and Post-Docs
Faculty, staff, post-docs, and graduate students can participate in Iowa Sciences Academy science outreach and engagement activities in several ways. Email ui-isa@uiowa.edu to express your interest or to consult on an outreach project. Below are some ways in which you can be involved:
- Host an ISA student in your lab with funding from an ISA program
- Sponsor and/or mentor a Latham Fellow project.
- Serve as a guest speaker for an ISA-sponsored event.
- Serve as a poster or seminar judge.
- Host an in-person or virtual lab tour.
- Receive the ISA Newsletter.
- Receive invitations to upcoming pubic events sponsored by ISA.
- Learn about opportunities for formal mentor training.
- Registration will place you on a listserv and you will receive communications from ISA for up to two years.
