Biography

My name is Selina Hua, and I am a fourth year Biomedical Science major with a minor in Philosophy. Currently, I am an undergraduate research assistant at the Hansen Lab in the Department of Otolaryngology, where I am actively participating in projects that explore auditory neurobiology and immunology. The aim of these projects is to better understand the mechanisms of sensorineural hearing impairment while exploring mechanisms to preserve hearing loss. In the future, I hope to become a practicing physician who engages in medical research and advocates for effective scientific communication. Through the Latham Fellowship, I aspire to enhance my skills in the art of scientific communication while creating meaningful projects that make the sciences more accessible to all audiences.
