Arsha Vaddadi
Hello! My name is Arsha Vaddadi and I am a fourth year student majoring in Neuroscience on the Pre-Dental track with a certificate in Resilience and Trauma-Informed Perspectives. I am currently an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Jiefeng Jiang's research lab where I use computational modeling, neuroimaging, and behavioral testing to study how the "programs" in the brain that allow someone to do things such as drive a car or throw a baseball, and how each "program's" respective demand of cognitive control are learned, stored, retrieved, and executed in the brain. After completing my undergraduate studies, I am planning on pursuing dental school to study dental surgery with a focus in prosthodontics. I am ecstatic to be part of the Latham Fellows Program to improve my skills in science communication which is vital to make science more accessible and understandable to a wider audience. This helps foster the public understanding of science, build trust between scientists and the public, decrease misinformation, and inspire and engage young people in scientific pursuits.
