The Iowa Sciences Academy is seeking rising juniors and seniors interested in research to join the UI-MARC program and our close-knit community of students, faculty and staff. The UI-MARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers) is an NIH-funded program that supports the academic and personal success of underrepresented students interested in pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD to develop knowledge, interventions, or technology that will improve human health. The fellowship is for June 1, 2024 - May 30, 2025. Juniors can apply for a second year of funding.
This fellowship supports up to 15 hours of mentored research per week by providing a monthly stipend, pays up to 60% of tuition and fees, and provides travel funding and professional development activities.
