Biography

Joan Aune grew up in a small, rural town in Minnesota. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Minnesota (U of M) in Minneapolis where she earned her BA degree in Communications.  Joan's career started in banking as a lender and then in bank data processing where she was the loan systems product manager. Her next career stop was in the telecommunications industry where Joan stood up the Project Management Office (PMO) for the company and became the senior leader of the PMO.  She left telecommunications to join a financial services company where she also developed and staffed their first PMO. Always wanting to learn and get out of her comfort zone, Joan pursued the Operations side of the business with the same company where she became Vice President and managed a large and diverse enterprise-wide service organization for the U.S. with responsibility for their mail, call center, training, quality and print functions. Joan retired from full time work at that company. With a desire to continue to learn, meet new people and bring value to people and organizations, Joan pursued part-time work and joined the ISA team. When not spending time with her 3 adult children or with friends you will find Joan at the gym, out on a walk, traveling, reading, volunteering at Miracles in Motion (an equestrian therapy center outside of Swisher) or working with elementary school children via Junior Achievement.
