David Cwiertny is a Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research program focuses on pollutant fate in natural and engineered systems, with expertise related to emerging pollutant transformation pathways and the development of nanomaterial-based treatment technologies that promote water sustainability. Cwiertny is a faculty member in the campus-wide Water Sustainability Initiative and has developed graduate and undergraduate courses related to society's pursuit of sustainable water resources.
