Sofia Gomez (Junior - Biology) joined the Science Alliance her freshman year. She has participated in the Peer Mentoring program, Science Alliance internship, and was accepted as an IBA Scholar for the Summer of 2021. This semester, Sofia will be mentoring a 1st or 2nd year student in the Peer Mentoring program.

Sofia is currently conducting research in Diane Slusarski's lab, working on Wnt/calcium signaling using the Zebrafish Model System. In this photo, Sofia is working on microinjections of a protein (Cas9) into Zebrafish (danio rerio) embryos.
