Eligibility
- Undergraduate or graduate student.
- Able to dedicate 8-15 hours per week for clinical research.
- Work can be completed remotely and at flexibly. Attendance at weekly project meetings (see below) is encouraged
- Volunteers must be able to work well with both patients and clinical research staff, be detail-oriented, and able to work independently in fast-paced, flexible environments.
Projects
- Meta-analysis of dementia risk factors: This is a meta-analysis of randomized control trials of mindfulness-based interventions targeting lifestyle factors linked to dementia. The results will quantify the benefits of practicing mindfulness on various brain health behaviors (e.g., exercise, sleep) and inform interventions for older adults with cognitive decline.
- Live-video mind-body intervention: The goal of this study isto prevent persistent concussion symptoms among young adults with anxiety symptoms. We are developing a novel intervention which will be adapted based on qualitative interviews.
- Patient-caregiver resiliency in neurological conditions: We are seeking a volunteer to critically assist with several clinical trials focused on the development and delivery of resiliency interventions for patients and their family caregivers after acquired brain injuries (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke) and the onset of dementia and neurodegenerative diseases.

- Transcribing qualitative interviews
- Data entry
- Research literature searches and summaries
- Screening participants for eligibility in research studies
- Assisting data and manuscript preparation
- Attend weekly clinical and research seminars (optional)
- Collaborate with team members at all training levels: students, clinical fellows, research post-docs, and psychologists (optional)
