Renata Alambert, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine-Endocrinology and Metabolism
Biography
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department on Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, at the University of Iowa, where I am also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center (FOEDRC). My laboratory is interested in understanding the interplay between mitochondrial function/dynamics and systemic metabolism. Our current research project focuses on investigating the role of the integrated stress response, and its main effector, ATF4, in brown adipose tissue's adaptation to thermogenic stimulation and mitochondrial stress.
