Matieis Mayes is a first-year undergraduate majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. He currently works in the Ryan Lab at the Carver College of Medicine, where he studies integrin-extracellular matrix interactions in airway basal stem cells. Outside of research, he listens to vinyl records, plays the cello, and competes in chess.
