My name is Jake Fisher and I'm a human physiology major minoring in chemistry who's expecting to graduate in May of 2024. I'm a currently research assistant in the Coleman lab in the Free Radical Radiation Biology (FRRB) Orthopedic Biochemistry program. My current research is based in the redox biology of post-traumatic osteoarthritis and radiation induced arthrofibrosis. After completing my undergraduate degree, I hope to attend medical school with aspirations of entering the field of orthopedic surgery. I'm interested in the Latham Fellows program because I've always enjoyed science so getting the opportunity to learn about communication and outreach in scientific practice is something that I find extremely valuable.
